I have a 1971 Trans Am. Recently, my Pertronix distributor died while driving. Would crank all day. I checked the battery voltage on a meter and tried starter fluid to make sure it was spark and not fuel related, But I got nothing while cranking. So I changed to a new Pertronix kit after debating whether to return to points, and it started right up and is running better than before. Tommy who is now at Ragusa's on Government at Eugene is who my group uses for mechanic work that is out of our league.

They have some really good lobe designs. I have used several of their camshaft’s for GM LS engines.

No doubt. Theres a reason they ship cams all over the US. I need to stop by one day, a few friends want to take a look.

It is criminal with emissions standards that it only produced 220 HP.
A '24 Camry 2.5L 4 cylinder has basically the same horsepower (203 HP) and the 3.5L 6 cylinder blows it away with 300 HP.
I had a '78 Z-28 with a 350CI V-8 that got a whopping 185 HP and a top speed of 105 mph. A new base model Civic would be right on its arse in the 1/4 mile.
