? Can't get much further east than the rigolets and still be in Louisiana.
Lot of trout in the Grand Isle area right now. But, also a lot of morons on the water, beware.

You can go much farther east and still be in Louisiana. Half Moon Island, the entire Biloxi WMA marsh, Isle au Pitre, and the Chandeleurs are all parts of Louisiana!

What I'm saying is, with the Bonne Carre opening, the lake is too fresh and it's usually hard to find trout in the lake during the summer ANYWAY. Best time for trout is their spring and fall runs at the trestles and Hwy 11 bridges. A little further east you can find them in the Rigolets, Lake Catherine and Chef Pass marshes sometimes but again, the spillway opening has it pretty fubar and you'd be better off going further east to get into better water. Cross Lake Borgne to Biloxi Marsh. It's holding them pretty well right now as they head back out after the spring spawn.

The Corps has been closing 10 bays per day since April 24, only 30 left running right now per link below.

Overall, this opening has been but a fraction of the volume and duration of last year's unprecedented double opening that went into July.
