I have not climbed up a stand this bow season....simply too hot. Heck, I have not done any real work yet....and it is about time to get to work on the ole duck blind.

I am just not into it this year....it needs to start cooling off some ASAP so my old butt will get in gear.

I tell you what. This is my first deer season, and like a child at Christmas I've been excited to go. I couldn't make it opening day, but I finally got out there Monday. You deer hunters are a special breed....sitting dead still, sweating my arse off, in the middle of flippin no where is not fun. But then I see all these pictures from the trail cam and I'm intrigued again. It's kind of like fishing. To my wife, getting up at 3:00 am to go sit in a boat in the blazing sun is not her idea of a good time....especially when the reward is, cleaning all the damn fish.

92 degrees here in South Carolina today. We even had spring like thunderstorms (the kind that don't last long, that don't cool the temps, and drive humidity up)

This time of year I try to make morning hunts only. Leave by 9am and its not too bad. Those afternoon hunts can be brutal.

I've hunted the first two weekends and have seen plenty of deer. I stuck an eight pt but couldn't find it.
Yes, it has been brutal - I've seen more snakes the last two weekends than I have the last several years.
