well.... I didn't set the world on fire but didn't do too bad either.
We got there about noon Friday and the wind was already whipping pretty good. We made the decision to go to Bayou Patroon and try to figure it out since it was fairly close to where we were staying. Caught a bunch of fish but couldn't zero in on the bigger fish.
Then the front came through... forced us off the lake about 5 before we got to check out some main lake stuff. So Sat. morning I made the decision to start in Patroon and go to the main lake pockets if the weather allowed me to later in the day.
Never made it to the main lake.
I caught 14 saturday and weighed a 5 fish limit of 13.17 which was good enough for 6th place in our club tourney.
Everything Friday was shallow brush.... everything saturday was scattered cover and sometimes bare bank like they were just hunkering down with their belly on the bottom.
Thanks to all the guys that offered help! Especially Janky!
Oh.... the only consistent bait I could get bit on was a Berkley Havoc Pit Boss in Vampire Orange. Caught a few on a Watermelon/Red Senko Saturday and had 1 bite on a fluke and one on a swimbait.
Can't wait to get back when I can see other areas of the lake.

Oh and DO NOT stay at the Sabine Lake Inn.....
1. No TV
2. Wifi was a Joke
3. Looks like Live PD could film an entire episode right next door.
New owners and they were friendly but the place was pretty sketchy. Maybe they can get it cleaned up and nice but It was NOT awesome.

Next trip I want to check out the stuff you told me about.
Just didn't have the confidence to get out there in the conditions we had.

Hopefully I will be able to hit it Friday and Saturday morning.

I fished a club tournament down there yesterday. That may have been the worst wind I’ve ever fished in. Ended up winning with 17 lbs with an 8 lb kicker, thanks to Bossier2323 getting me to come over where he was (shockingly true). [/img]

Nice fish!
I had a blast... just never felt like I was around the big girls.
