Find isolated brush in a few feet of water. If the weather gets ugly they should bite everywhere. Killed them on junebug red speed worms along the brush near the main lake. But it only worked as a storm was approaching

Got back 3 hrs ago. Been there since Saturday . Fishing is way off right now. Water slightly high and stained mid lake but clearing up daily. We found good water and had great conditions and couldn't catch more than 10 chunks a day. I've fished it for years and for it to go from great to shitty so quickly is mind boggling . The pressure is like I've never seen. There's not a stretch of bank anywhere that doesn't get fished multiple times a day. I can't wait till they go back out deep . Good Luck

I hope the water stays up so they stay shallow I will catch the hell out of them on a hollow bodied frog starting pretty soon. I caught one and lost one on a black frog last week.

It stayed fairly high through June or July last year and I demolished them on a frog!

My absolute favorite way to catch them. And it's really not that hard. I literally only throw two colors: black and white. As long as you can learn to walk them good, you can catch fish on them.

Been here since Tuesday, senkos in the grass down south, black and blue jig up north flipping trees have been the 2 main patterns for us. Ribbit frog yesterday brought in a lot of fish too.

Ribbet is my favorite thing to throw top water.
Can't go back this weekend but maybe next. Work piled up while on vacation and I lost 2 workers.

Several years back we fished a tournament at Toledo and won it in first 30 minutes after daylight with the ribbet. All the fish were 2-3 pounds but they weighed in 10 fish and it was a bluebird day. Next team had only 5 fish and some caught none.
We were the only boat with 10 fish.

My dad and a guy from our campground went white perch fishing this morning. The guy had caught his limit every morning the last 4 in a row, but they only caught 2 this morning. Said it was a little breezy

It's all about being there on the right day. That wind blows my work van all over the road.

for the tournament,

our camp had 4 teams in the LOBI (535 total i believe)

Chris and Mike Ortego in 11th overall
Scott and Daniel Ortego in 34th overall
My Brother and I had 27 pounds which was outside money, 72'ish

other team didnt weigh either day

getting bit was tough, Friday i had a 6.10 and a 3lber first 30 mins, caught 3 short the rest of day, my partner caught 1 keeper and 1 short, so only 3 fish but a little over 13 lbs

saturday we did not get A bite until after 12:00, I caught a 2-1/2 , then my bro 2 keepers barely over 14", then at 2:20 i catch a 4.3 and 2:52 he catches a 5, ended day 2 with our 5 fish, 14.2 lbs

couldn't get bit consistently all weekend and it was an absolute grind!

I fished in Toro Bay from about 10:00-4:00 yesterday. First time South of the bridge all year. Man that place looks different this year, no grass at all. Tried to force a deep bite. Caught seven only two would keep, one on an A-rig the rest on a Carolina rig. Pretty disappointing day.

Dad and I went on the south end of the lake yesterday. We caught over 40 with 14 keepers but none over 17 inches. Caught most of the keepers on spinner baits and Texas rigged brush hogs outside of the haygrass.

going to be there this weekend. I will try pretty hard to get an afternoon frog bite.

I also hate getting in the merry go round and slinging the spinnerbait with the others. and I know it works. Its just a confidence thing to me. I feel like i need to offer something different to get an advantage. But sometimes thats just what they want.
