Hwy 61 is shutdown, possibly hwy 10 due to water coming over the bridge.

From LSP Facebook page:

quote:

US Hwy 61 is closed at Thompson Creek, south of St. Francisville, due to high water. Detour routes for motorists traveling southbound on US Hwy 61 should take LA Hwy 10 east to LA Hwy 68 back to US Hwy 61. Detour routes for motorists traveling northbound on US Hwy 61 should take LA Hwy 68 to LA Hwy 10 east back to US Hwy 61.

Where did the water come from? I have not been keeping up with the recent rainfall in that area.

I have never seen 61 shut down because of Thompson creek.....Highway 10 will have closures too I'm sure, they have creeks running all through that area that are probably higher than normal

It was closed last August on 61, mainly north bound lanes.

They had to close Hwy 10 this morning which stayed open last year.

I can count on one hand how many times I can remember 61 closing like that

Did a tornado touch down in East Feliciana? When 67 was closed I ended up taking 961 to 432. There were small trees and limbs down all over the road. Helluva storm up that way.
