When I shoot a deer with my rifle and need to replace the missing bullet in the magazine, I take all the bullets out and put the new one in first since the others have been patiently waiting their turn. I also feel sorry for the bullet that has been on top the longest and has visible track marks from being cycled so often. One of my neurotic deer hunting habits. Might not be the best thing to do, but I do it.

Another is that if I'm in the woods even if it's for work, I'm always looking for recent or old rubs on trees and will point it out once I see one.

Another is when driving on vacation I'll always tell my family "I bet there's some big deer in these woods". I always get zero response.

And I thought it was just me? What a relief.

I bought a box of core loks about 24 deer ago. I just shot my last one this season. It had been in the rotation for 3 years. I decided I hated the hornadys and sent the Core Lok for a ride on the last hunt of the season this year, killed a doe. That bullet had been waiting for like 14 years.

Got to get a new box now

I can't be the only one who spots where the stand would be placed when driving by a nice looking clearing or pipeline/ROW.

Use every slice off the tee box when playing golf as a fact finding mission in the woods looking for old rubs, scrapes etc.

Probably found more rubs doing this than balls from errant drives.

i had this habit of clearing a cocked trigger when i was a kid. one time i thought i had ejected the cartridge, but i hadnt. pulled the trigger and a 180 gr BTHP 7mm Rem mag went whizzing past my dads head. missed him by less than a foot. he says he still randomly hears ringing in that ear sometimes.

And if there is anyone in vehicle with you when you see one, you have to say “deer”. Never fails
