True, usually girdle bug with a nymph trailer. How I started when I first started fishing there lol

Went in the surf early saturday morning lookin for Pompano.

Conditions were perfect. 3.5 foot deep trough ran along the beach about 15 feet wide to a shallow sandbar about 100 yards wide. Should have been pompano superhighway, but no luck on the fly. Caught two on the backside of the bar on the spiked rods. Going to try again this weekend

You ever run into any issues of getting run out of ponds around Catfish Lake? I know that for a while the area was kind of a hotbed for issues over private water/public access.

Nope, haven’t had any issues. I’ve heard of some bowfishing guys get kicked out, but not day time fishing

I had a good day yesterday not too far from that area, fish were running in bunches of 5-15 fish, tailing etc. I only saw 2 slots all day, everything was 30-35"
