I guess this was a joke?
Spinnerbaits have caught a zillion big bass.
To the OP, I have also caught some big cats on spinnerbaits, up to 10 pounds or so. They sometimes fight very different than a bass, herky jerky or spinning. Years ago in California I caught a 17 pound cat on a Castaic trout swimbait off the end of the boat ramp dock in the dark one morning. I launched the boat and didn't start the engine, just began casting. She hit on the surface when I twitched the 9" swimbait. What a battle that was, she went down deep, 25 foot of water and it took so long to finally net her that my forearms were aching. And that was with a 7'6" rod and 25 lb test line. For a minute or so I thought I had the lake record bass, lol, then I realized no bass had that much stamina.

...and on occasion, a winch.

A 20" redfish hooked weirdly will shake its normally steady head rather violently and convince you she is a 28" trout for 37 amazing seconds.
Crocodile tears.
Crocodile tears.
