well the Sync feature in my F-150 is acting up. It shows the message "initializing BT try again" when I try to pair with my phone, and the phone asks for a PIN number but the truck isn't displaying one. Any suggestions?

If you can't get it to reset, make sure the truck is off and go under the hood and undo the negative battery post for about 30 seconds. Put it back on and try it again. My dad's F250 has done this a couple times and this has reset it every time.

Yea, tried resetting it. Is it rarely obvious which cords to disconnect under the hood? Rather not frick it up.

The negative post on your battery has a clamp on it with a bunch of wires ran to it. It's a 8mm nut you have to undo just a little bit so you can wiggle the clamp off of the terminal. It's nothing to it.

This is a pic of the positive terminal on the battery. It's under the red rubber cover and has a (+) by it. The negative terminal has a (-) by it. The small nut on the side of the clamp is the one you loosen to be able to pull it off of the terminal.

Rather than the battery disconnect, you could find the appropriate fuse and pull it to reset. I believe the one for the Sync is in the secondary fuse box under the passenger side dash.

Mine fricks up often. A lot of times it just won't connect to my phone for minutes at a time, other times it changes the track or doesn't play from my speakers despite it being connected. For these problems I just turn my Bluetooth off and then turn it right back on and it usually fixes it.
