Need to keep some what-I-think-are sparrows from chilling and nesting up there.

I’ve been battling barn swallows in our entry way last 2 years. I would remove any sign of a mud nest and they’d have it rebuilt by the end of the next day.
I’m going to try stapling a rubber snake up under there.

Hang some clear mesh or netting ~2” off the wall they are nesting.
I fought them for years. I used some fishing string hung from a thin plastic strip with double sided tape. But something like this monofilament netting would work great.
