If the boat otherwise does what you want, sink some money into it now (trolling motors can be bought cheap on the second-hand market) and plan to keep it for at least 2 years. Otherwise, sell now.

people love a deal and they will cut you off at the knees on your price any way so ask $1000 less then you thought it was worth and sell it advertising it has trolling motor issue.

most likely a mechanic buys it just because its cheap, and let him, or the new owners, chase electrical issues which could be simple or more serious then you thought

off hand, from the way you describe it, im betting the boat needs a complete rewire from bow to stern

sell it "as-is" for the best price you can get and move on, the guy buying it cheap may dump a shite ton more money into it then you ever imagined it needed so don't be thinking you are getting screwed with the cheap prices they offer, just get whatever you think is the minimal value and walk away clean

TM and boat engine wiring are 2 separate systems and really not that complicated. OP, what’s the BP and how many gauges are we talking about?
