Stuck gooseneck ball

I have the factory puck system and I don't think the person who had my truck before me ever took the ball out. It's supposed to be the curt style that has the flip up and rotate pin that disengages the bearings at the bottom and releases. Well I have no access to the tab. Pics below.
Anyone every got one out where you can even access the mechanism to disengage it?
Thinking about just drilling through that top piece and knocking it out.

Got it. Had to Dremel and cutting wheel the notch back out. Then I was able to beat the lever up. Was still stuck.
Some redneck engineering with a 4x4, ratchet strap, and beat on it from underneath. Popped right out. Got the new low profile ball ready to go. Definitely not leaving it in the truck like they did.
