The Automatic Transmission fluid (ATF)-Acetone mix was a "home brew" mix of 50 - 50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Note the "home brew" was better than any commercial product in this
This. ATF / Acetone will work 99% of the time on things like this. Liquid Wrench is my go to commercial if I don't have any of the home brew ready to go.

Brake fluid will do the same. It really does the trick if you can heat the object just a bit. Heat seems to pull the brake fluid into the threads if that makes since.

Barrel and threads are fine. It was neglect that allowed the choke to rust a bit. After soaking tbe barrel and choke in liquid wrench then tapping the receiver end of barrel on wood block on concrete floor and lastly heating barrel w propane heater the choke loosened. Cleaned up threads w brass brush and now the owner ... not me... knows to use a good clp on choke.

A couple years ago I put Kroil on mine and shot a box of shells as fast as I could through it and it came right out.
