Anyone ever done any fishing from the beach in St. Augustine? My first trip to that part of Florida and didn't know if it was worth trying

Fished in the flats. Great reds. Offshore charter a few Kings and a Cudda. I wouldn’t waste a whole lot of resources. It can be fun, plan your fishing trips in the Gulf.

My wife and I love st Augustine. Never fished around there so can’t help with that but did all the tourist stuff and beach stuff. Make sure you eat at Columbia and mango mangos

I grew up in that area. The best place I've found on shore is Cape Francis in Anastasia State Park near the St. Augustine Inlet. I went early in the morning (like 5-7am) and always caught plenty of sharks, amberjacks, and flounder. The Park Rangers do check that area quite often so make sure you get a Florida fishing license before going.
