Have a 15 acre field with 3 years of growth in it with shooting lanes cut about 400 yards from where that pic was taken. Figured during the rut does will try and lose bucks in that y’all grass and others will use it to bed down in the daytime on cooler days in the sun. Might start giving that stand more arse time in the coming weeks

Made an evening hunt yesterday

deer moved late....5:15ish

had a nice mature buck following a doe all over the field, wasn't pushing her hard just following her around. by the time he got in range it was 5:40

hopefully the rut is close to starting, may switch my vacation to next week

Also saw 7 other deer

Seen a 3 yr old 8pt chasing last week. They are hitting scrapes like crazy right now.

Bucks covering a lot of ground, but still in feeding mode. We’ve seen 5 bucks between me and my old man in the last 2 days. Saw doe still with yearling, young bucks together feeding, and a decent 8 pt feeding with a doe. Old man killed a good 4.5 year old feeding; didn’t stink and neck was barely swollen. Isn’t quite that time yet.

I'm in Wilson... didn't see a thing yesterday but heard around 15 shots between 4:30-5:15 in the evening. Was gonna make a mid day hunt but wasn't able too. Gonna try aging this evening. My area is always best for morning hunts but I wasn't feeling it this morning with the rain.

Still havent seen it bust loose in W.F. yet. Hoping its not another year with a non-defined rut. Anyone else?

Most of our mature does and bucks have disappeared from cameras and plots.

Likely chasing or banging in the woods.

Noticing the same thing here. I have cameras on scrapes and mostly young bucks hitting them.

Had a doe being chased by 2 spikes yesterday. Just knew a rack buck was gonna show.

I shot a nice 13pt non typical off a friends lease in WF 12/30. He shot a decent 9pt 12/31 morning. Plenty of movement on the west side of 61.
My place off sage hill I hardly have anything on camera. Zero bucks in the last month or so
