Do you have any "second chance" outdoor gear places nearby? There are 2-3 of them here. Always good deals on stuff that you may or may not use much.

Borrow if you don't know if you'll be using it much.

I ended up renting a tent, pad, and backpack from EMS. Their rental rates were the cheapest I found and to my surprise, they had a Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 1 which they reserved for me. I was worried I was gonna have to carry a very heavy tent for the weekend.
