my mom and dad went to the camp in Montegut yesterday. Water was down but they said it was rapids coming out of the new flood gates @ Bush Canal

Those flood gates are going to flood Houma one day. I just don't get the logic. Lets close the gates but pump all the rain water behind them only to be compounded by the water coming down the intracoastal that now has no where to go

exactly. it'll stop a storm surge but the problem with a TS is the rain. You're holding it in

I was finally able to talk to the marina owner. she reports that there was two feet of water at Four Points, leaving a bunch of silt in the parking lot and in the store. My boat stayed on the trailer.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all is well at the camp...
