Maybe. I'm not familiar with your gun.

Alright now fix my shotgun

Beretta 391 Urika. It's ejects the shell fine but when loading the next shell it won't quite push the bolt all the way up. It stops about an inch short. The fun is about 10 yr old or so and I put in a sure cycle return spring last yr but it didn't help. Any help is appreciated tia

I've seen that before on some of the 390's and 391's. If you pull the bolt to the rear slowly bring it forward you'll notice that when the bolt gets about 1" from the fully closed position that there is a little "lip" that the bolt kind of hangs on.

Happened on a buddy's gun. I took a small rat-tail file to and just slightly filed it and then sanded it a little with some fine sandpaper (think I used 120 or 200 grit, can't remember). Cleaned it and put a coat of teflon on it.

I mentioned this earlier, but when you store your Beretta, lock your bolt to the rear.

ETA: If it isn't catching the "lip" and/or you don't feel right filing in your chamber...it's also very likely that the gun isn't broken in. Does it do this with just low power or with high power too?

Either way, locking your bolt when storing will help it a lot.

It should be a cheap fix.

Sometimes if you use old shells that have a little rust on them they will do this. The steel expands and the rust catches on the chamber.

Thanks alot for the tips. I will check that out. The gun if def broke in. I've had it form prolly about 10yrs and put thousands of rounds through it. It just started hanging up 2 seasons ago and thats why I replace the return spring bc I thought it was worn out

I replace the return spring

There it is. Just leave it stored with the bolt locked, that new spring will break in and you'll be good to go.
