That was them. Over there by just south of the mall entrance. Nice looking peaches but hard and a race as to whether they will rot or ripen first. And $9 for a carton of 7. I think my LA Feliciana peach tree will start producing next season and I can have fresh RIPE peaches.

Yeah they pick them a couple of days before coming down so they pick harder ones that will eventually ripen instead of the ripe and the over-ripe fruits that they sell at their farm store.
Their prices here in Lafayette are high IMO, but let's face it, the diesel for them to bring them across the state is not cheap not even mentioning the time it takes. They have much lower prices (and more kinds of produce for sale) up in Calhoun at their farm store, but it's a long way to go for genuine Ruston peaches.
As someone else said, put them in a bag and they will ripen quicker.

It’s been the best year for grocery peaches I can remember. 95% success rate if you buy them right and stage the eating correctly.
