I'm fairly new to the Northshore and starting to fish this area. Born and raised in Chauvin and we could at least catch school trout in the summer. Northshore does not appear to be the same story. Any tips on summer fishing this area or should I just take my kids swimming at the sandbar until fall arrives?

Mind you I have a 19' custom flats boat, so I'm not crossing large bodies of water.

Following. I have a 12' non-pedal kayak and would like some info too.

No issue finding reds in the marsh between St. Catherine and Lake B. Depending on your boat and the wind make a run to Biloxi Marsh or hit half-moon island.

You'll find some fish

Edit: If you have a flats stay along the north side of Lake B. or pray the wind doesn't pick up

The trestles hold sheepshead, drum, freshwater (and hardhead) catfish, with a renegade flounder here and there.

Every now and then you can hit a school of reds in the lake not far from the bridges as well

That is not my normal fishing grounds but on Friday I ran my neighbors boat from the Rigolets to chandeleur islands. We caught 50 big trout at the chandeleurs. On the way back we stopped around the outer most edge of the Biloxi marsh and there were school trout under the birds in that area. You could make it there from Pass Christian no problem on a calm day. We picked up one triple tail and saw another that we couldn’t get to bite.
