Nice looking rifle. Now go thump some deer.

I think a good 8 or 10 rounds is plenty enough to break in a deer rifle barrel.

Nice gun. Good action. Not what I would have bought, but a good solid deer killing machine. Like your choice of optics as well. Great rig.

No. I think a barrel break in is complete bullshite. It makes no sense to me. I do it on my customs cause the smiths recommend it, but I've never done it n a factory rifle. Those factory rifles all shoot 1/2 moa or I wouldn't have them. Ftr, they also are all very tempermental about being clean. My customs aren't. Don't feel it's a function of the break in.

Ftr, I don't like the ruger. Lot of potential there, but the important parts were poorly thought out.

Clean your barrel after each shot for the first 5 shots. After that I would clean it after 5 for the next 20 or so shots. May sound stupid but it will increase the accuracy your new rifle.
