First of all I don't want to get into a political debate about gun rights and everything that is going on right now behind the scenes. For the purpose of this thread, lets make it hypothetical.

If the government tried to take your guns away, what would you do? Hide them? Die for them? Give them up? It's easy to be an internet badass and say you would kill whoever tried to take them..blah blah blah.

What would you REALLY do? I would hope that I would give my life to protect my freedoms but I don't know that I could. Really makes me feel like a pussy. I know my grandfather would die for this cause. What about you?

If I had any guns to take, I would hide some of them. Me being dead or going to jail over them doesn't do much to help my family.

By that time I expect to have 4-5 in my possession. I will give them 1 and hide the rest

What would be your breaking point to stand up for something you believe in? Is there something you would die for? I've just been thinking a lot lately about the people who have sacrificed their life in order to give us the freedoms we have today. I wish I was that passionate about something.

If my kids were grown, I would be right there with you, but a 6 and 5 year old need a daddy around.

If you can find one LEO or soldier that would participate in this collection of arms from law abiding citizens or would arrest any for non-compliance, I'd like to meet them. Pencil pushing politicians don't have the guts to do it themselves and the other civil servants don't get paid enough to stare down a country boy sitting on his porch with a loaded 12 gauge and ask "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to relinquish your firearm under order of the president". I imagine if they DID manage to those words out, you hear a stream of tobacco hit the ground followed by "Is that right?" in a long southern drawl.

My kids or my wife.

This may be taken the wrong way, but the country we are living in today is not the same one the greatest generation was fighting for. We have just about given it away. It is but a mere shellof it's former self. Not that I am not a proud American, but this place is going down the shitter quick and this election may be our last chance to salvage it.

I don't think the government could ever find enough agents to sign up to go door to door trying to take guns.

Hypothetically though, I'd give them a few and hide the rest. If I had any.

Put them in drums of grease, bury somewhere deep, mark GPS coordinates, retrieve them when necessary/possible.

This scenario is more farfetched IMO than most conservatives/gun enthusiasts will lead you to believe, though

You're correct. I'm not gonna sit here and say I'd be some badass and make em pry it outta my cold dead fingers, but I DO believe if it ever came to that, they'd have to find me first.

The 'great' thing about America is freedom. If that's gone, I don't wanna be here. America isn't a location on the globe to me.
