Question about Big Lake (the Poe's) camps.....

Heading to Big Lake to fish in the middle of June.
Does anyone remember/know off hand if the Poe's have a pier that you can fart around on/fish on in the evenings, and if they do, is it reserved for just whoever is staying in the actual camp that's associated with it?
We're staying in the little camp this time/the one that's NOT on the lake itself. If I got down there early enough (or wanted to play around on the pier that night), is that an option?

I bet the Poe's could answer all your questions. I've been down there before but it's been a while back and not sure if they had to redo since the storms. I would think it wouldn't be an issue for 1 or 2 people to go fish on their dock in the evening if you're staying with them.

yeah, I could email them, but didn't wanna look like that dorkey dude that just couldn't WAIT to get out there until the next am lol.
But I pretty much am that guy in that situation.

After paying the $ to stay down there and fish with them the next day I wouldn't feel bad at all asking to fish on the pier. I hope this wind will start laying down so we can get some clean water and some shrimp into the lake to get the trout biting. Friend of mine that guides said this has been the worst spring on Big Lake for trout in 20 years.

I mean yea, for sure, the big camp does have a pier. Not sure if it's a "keep off of my lawn deal" or not though. Ya know, liabilities and such. Plus, part of me was thinking that if they let folks do it, how do they monitor it? Have 24 incorrigibles out there every night..."SUUUUUURRE, you're fishing with us in the am" type thing.
I've been with them maybe 6-8ish times, stayed at the camp maybe 4, but have never stayed at the big camp - where the boats leave from. So I honestly don't know. In fact, I think they used to have 3 camps. It's just two now, from what I gathered. Anyway.....
As of right now, we're staying in "camp 1", which is the little camp. It ain't got no pier. I just emailed them though to see if we could possibly ad another boat/accommodations for 3 more, and asked about the pier deal. We'll see.
Damn, I need to get out more. Been a long tax season/you'd think I was going to catch bluefin w/your boy Tuna dawt cawum.

Really? I've had better luck. Always had a great trips w/them, Eric "first you make a" Rue, the Constance brothers (used to be Cedar Edge/merged w/Black Lake years ago, then split, no clue what they are doing now - good dudes though). Only one bad trip. I mean, a cpl were just ok, but only one truly bad one, such that I'd had rather actually been at my office.

Me too. That's why I typically wait until June. Invariably, if I try and go chase the fat girls in April/May, Big Lake will look like Big Lake Full of Chocolate Milk.
