PVC Cajun anchor for kayak?

Will a 1" length of PVC be sufficient to hold a kayak in place rather than a metal one? I have a small regular anchor but really only good for deeper water like if I'm fishing the lake. In just a couple feet of water I want to use a cajun anchor so I don't have to worry about dealing with a lot of line.

I didn't mean 1" in length, I meant 1" of a length. Maybe 6'?

Are you wanting a stake out pole? If so, I would think the PVC walls need to be pretty thick, and even then you risk it breaking.
Check out the ParkNPole stake out pole / push pole. Fiberglass, in lengths of 3/6/8. I have the 6 and it works great for shallow water.

Yeah just was hoping to save some money as two of my rods have broken in the past two weeks.

I hear you man, its always something. If you can get some pretty thick schedule PVC, you should be fine. What length would you need?

Do u have an old broom or mop handle around? That's what I use.

why not just use one of the thick Fiberglass/plastic tomato poles, and an insulated pipe clamp or two?
1/2" diameter 8' length stake for under $5
1/2" insulated cable clamps for 99 cents

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Bleed, that looks ideal, wonder if I can pick that up from Home Depot or lowes?

I think all they carry is the 6' lengths but you could always check. They will both have the clamps
