I've got a Miller mig and am looking at upgrading and the Everlast

I've seen a whole whole lot of aluminum boat being built and have never seen an Everlast product. If OP is serious about welding a bunch of aluminum, it's Miller or bust.

While Everlast definitely doesn't have near the track record that Miller has, it does have a small part of tig welding applications in alot of specialty fab shops.

For me it's MILLER and ESAB only.

They make any and every machine you could possibly need and most parts that you will need such as tips, nozzles, and other peices are readily available at most supply houses.

I worked for a company that bought 150 ESAB welding machines. Within 5 years over half were in a junk pile. If you want the best, get a Miller.

You do NOT want a tig machine if you working by yourself a lot. You cant tack shite up by yourself with a tig machine. Get a spool gun.

Is it that ESAB tries to do too much with their electronics? They seem very innovative but I don’t know if it translates to longevity.

IDK, we had all kinds of problems with them, wire feeders too. You couldn't control the heat on them. When I was there we had Millers that been in service since the late 80s still kicking arse. I'd go with a Miller machine and a Hobart spool guns. They real smooth. Hobart makes some kick arse wire feeders.

I’ll go Miller in the end. Yall just reinforced what I probably already knew deep down inside. Thanks for all the feedback. It’ll be a little while before I have enough saved but I’ll try to follow up on this post and comment on the machine

Go full retard and get a push-pull whip while you're at it. That's got to be the Cadillac of Cadillacs.

You really wouldn't be saving time because of switching gas and controls on the MIG. I have a multiprocess machine that was a great idea, but swapping polarity, guns, wire, and gas is a pain. I would get a really good MIG machine (Miller, ESAB, etc.) stick a big bottle of 75/25 on it and a 10 pound roll of 70S6 on it..done.

Then get a value brand AC TIG machine with a pedal. Burn a ton of tungsten. Most guys I know that got big TIG machines regret it unless they make a living doing hire welding.

I bought a $600 lotus that works. Lots of operator error involved, but it welds

I have a Lincoln Powermig 350 and a Millermatic 350P, both with push pull guns. My shop is in Covington at 17351 Hard Hat Drive if you want to check them out and lay a few beads.

Spoolguns suck.
