I understand a minimum slot limit. But I have never fished a tournament where they measure the length. Plus, I have never fished a tournament where there are slot limits like Red Fish have.

I live in a Bass fishing state and speak from experience.

Watch any FLW or BASS tourney and its total weight, not length.

Yeah i know but thats what a warden told us a while back....

I wouldn't want to trust that if some young gun on a power trip comes along... We don't keep anything out of the spillway unless it is an eighth of an inch over 14" in case we have to put it on ice (they shrink). Know a guy that got ticketed for a fish that made it alive and didn't after being on ice

I fish tourneyments and they do measure the fish if it is close to the slot. You have a person u bring your bag to that puts them in the basket, inspects, measures if need be, then brings the basket to the weighmaster to be put on the scales... Maybe you just catch big fish

You're not getting it. Every bass tournament has a minium length. It's either established by the rules of the tounament, or by the regs of the State. If you show up with a close fish, the tournament staff will throw him on a board. You had better know how to measure when you bring your 5 fish up there.

Thats what we did last year at Mexico Beach for the King Tourny. We called in, got the news, and started drinking beer.

Especially since most of the damn rodoes keep your fish. I don't know why they don't just cut the tail off or something.

I'm pretty sure the bass masters classic was won on a 3 day stringer of 12" fish a few years back when it was in Pittsburgh... Or atleast something close to that.. The majority of the field didn't fill a bag

I live in Alabama. I fish on Lay Lake, I launch my boat about 100 yards from where KVD won it in Feb of this year. I dont have to worry about 12" fish.

bass fishing is the same way... You know what u have going into it and know how many places they r paying out.. If u aren't close u eat, drink beer, socialize and fry fish later

Most do and some will fry the fish that night for the rodeo participants but I would rather keep that for my freezer if given the chance.
