Well this is going to be a really brief product "review" since they didn't work. For this year's Father's Day my adult kids bought me a pair of Halo K2000 Rangefinder 10X42 Binoculars that I requested. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive in time for my prairie dog hunt so I didn't check them out until last week. Well you know from the earlier comment that they're dead. Despite trying 4 different CR2 batteries, they never powered up. The optics looked ok, but I didn't evaluate closely. Unfortunately, I was outside the usual return window since they'd been bought 3 weeks early. The heavily accented Amazon CS guy was useless so I initiated an exchange w/ the manufacturer. My daughter was able to quickly get a refund since it was bought on her account. In the meantime, after 6 days, the manufacturer never finalized the CS review. Originally I was going to exchange them for a new pair. After seeing how bad the Customer Service is, I decided to get a refund. If you buy these, be aware CS is not very responsive. In addition, you'll need to spend an extra $20 for a neck strap since the binoculars do not come w/ one. Now I'm looking at the Vortex Fury HD 5000. I know Leica and Swarovski are the best, but I can't make myself spend that much. The Vortex gets good ratings for that price range. In addition, I'm confident Vortex will honor their lifetime warranty without questions.
