Holes drilled – Makita 19, Milwaukee 34, Bosch 22, Dewalt 26
The Makita and Milwaukee are brushless. The DeWalt is not and it was close to the Milwaukee. I'm sure the older Makita in the LXT218 would have been close to that number as well.

Dewalt is good but is a lot of name recognition....so you end up paying for that.

I wouldn't buy them...but in their defense...My father in laws house went under in Katrina his ryobis were buried in 12" of salt water silt inside his home for about a week...he cleaned them up about a month later and they still work to this day...only thing he's had to replace recently were batteries...
I will say this about Ryobi. There not terrible power tools. The best angle grinder I have ever used was made by Ryobi. The battery system Ryobi uses is pretty genius imo. A 12v, 18v, 20v, and 24v can all slide into the port on their power tools and battery chargers. So you can have a about 6 different batteries and they can all be charged by one charging station instead of cluttering your garage with 6 different charging stations, taking up multiple outlets. Also if you getting into the battery powered yardwork equipment, Ryobi makes the best battery powered weedeater and hedge trimmer imo. I would put there 40v weedeater up against most gas powered weedeaters. But then again that could just be me.
One other thing; to the guy that said Ryobi and Ridgid are about the same thing. Thats not entirely true. Milwaukee, RIDGID and Ryobi are all owned by TTI. TTI is the parent company of OWT. OWT is the maker of Ryobi tools and they also make the RIDGID line. I think that the Milwaukee line isn't, yet anyways, made at the same factories as Ryobi and RIDGID but Milwaukee was purchased by TTI about 5 or 6 years ago.
As far as Ryobi and RIDGID tools being the same but just a different color, that is incorrect. Each line of tools are made to different specification but in some cases they do share some similar design features.

I understand most saying Ryobi is just crap, but i bought a case that came with skill saw, recrip saw, drill and light in 18V.
They had just came out when i bought in 2001 and they have held up very well.Built 2 houses and our camp 2 yrs ago and they were just fine.Only thing i had to replace were battery's.
I admit as soon as the drill breaks i want the Dewalt 20V drill and impact and may go ahead and get the impact now.
