Had to put down my yellow yesterday. 12 years old, had a mass on his throat/jaw area that got him. Tremendous dog, whistle trained, water or land. Hard to say goodbye. [/img]

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

Sorry to hear that, he was a beautiful pup. Good dogs never live long enough.

I hate to hear that, but I know exactly what you are talking about. I lost my boxer a little over a year ago and I couldn't even look at another dog because none of them compared to him. After about 14 months, I started looking and I just got another boxer and he's awesome, but I still miss my buddy!

Sorry for your loss. Had to put down my 8yo chocolate female last week. She had bladder cancer. Got to hunt with her the last weekend of duck season and found out the next week. Thought it was just a UTI.
