PLEASE MOVE TO TECH BOARD tired of satellite, what do i get

I've had dish for several years and I'm tired of having to upgrade a whole package because I want one channel. I don't need 500 channels. I've heard about the streaming on demand TV stuff like roku but don't really understand it. Whats a good set up besides satellite or cable?
