09/15/2019 he should be down. Archery season will be nice, very very nice! I appreciate the feedback. I would love to see him grow as symmetrical as he is, just don’t know if he’ll be around to see it if I don’t take him ASAP.

If you shoot him for this reason only, you are the a-hole neighbor.

Shoot him if you want, let him go if you don't want to, but don't use your neighbor as an excuse to shoot one that you want to grow bigger.

I would shoot him if I had the chance though, because they are nice deer.

Fair enough tenfoe. I’m sure I will if I see him. This borders not a neighbor but a water authority with thousands of undisturbed acres that may possibly be hunted. They have lottery draws. This year they are supposedly not hunting near our property, but I’m not certain. I guess that is my Dilemma, curious what he would grow too or be satisfied with a great deer that may not make it to next year to see.

Not shocking at all

With little to no gun hunting they get a chance to grow up. Been several 160-180” plus deer taken in suburban Atl outskirts.

FTR I say he’s between 135-140. A thumper for sure.... good luck! ;)

Thanks AUTimbo! With the exception of one guy calling me an a-hole hunter... all replies have been helpful. Even though I understood his point... Shooting a 140 class deer is not common where we are and even though the yahoo’s on the water authority might not hunt the area were in, he will travel the entire area when the rut kicks in.

That's not what I said. People complain about their neighbors shooting small deer on this board all the time. Shooting a deer because only because you think your neighbor will kill it makes you an a-hole IF you would rather the deer get bigger. I'm a proponent of people shooting whatever legal animal they want, regardless of size. You probably know this since you are a bonafide killer who has already figured out the exact day he is going to kill a big buck with his bow. Congrats. Got a spot picked out on your wall already?

Not complaining about my neighbor shooting the deer. It’s fair chase and if he’s killed then it was legal. I wanted a score estimate by everyone and age to determine what he scored, and if he was as big as I thought. I appreciated everyone’s input, and for the most part agreed with your statement. Don’t consider myself the a-hole hunter. I do have a spot on the wall if he walks out. Due to that fact that this isn’t in a $5,000 a person lease I don’t have the luxury of waiting until next year. This would be the only year possible because they may not be hunting my area on the water authority. Bow season is the most likely chance to kill him. In my mind if he was 140-150 like I thought he was I planned to take the deer if lucky enough to see him. Would I like to see him next year, damn right, likely won’t. That’s opening day in Georgia, not an exact day. Thanks again, have a good weekend. If I kill it I’ll be sure to post it.

If you had the choice to shoot only one with a guarantee that the other would survive (which you can’t) then it would be better to shoot the 8. The ten will only get bigger, you score more with length and mass, more points equals length and mass.

That thought has crossed my mind. It’s a crap shoot though with no guarantees. The 8 is a cool deer with junk everywhere and will get bigger, but not like the 10. Thanks for the input brother.
