I bought a Ruger American gen2 ranch edition 5.56 for my boys last year and mounted a cheap scope with direct quick mounts.
Had it dialed in and killed three deer with it last season.
Problem is when I go to mount my rattler thermal to it, the mount for that optic does not fit snuggly. It’s got wobble. I can’t adjust it any tighter.
What’s should I do?

You can adjust it while opening the latch on the connection and pushing it in, that will give you some room to tighten the nut on the backside. You shouldn't have to tighten it very much. A youtube video will probably explain it better than my 6th grade vocabulary
