Typically, we vacation around Pensacola early June- this year we can't make it until early August.

Is it worth getting a charter trip at that time? Seems like we just miss the Fla snapper season. I'd rather not troll for mackerel.

If you don't want to go off shore, you can certainly catch a lot of good stuff inshore in August. You don't even really need a charter. You can just do some surf fishing. Or go to Fort Pickens and cast around the pass or the pier there. Hit up the Pensacola beach pier.

My favorite thing to do around here is to walk and wade around Big Sabine, and between there and the Portofino. Its absolutely beautiful out there and there are some great grass flats that hold a lot of fish.

We went a few years ago and used crappie rigs tipped with shrimp and caught juvenile mangroves on docks. Couldn't keep them but it was a blast.

Cool story bro

You can join the hoardes on the pier and catch hardtails on sabikis as fast as you can reel them in. There will be about 78,000 people there with you.....
