No guarantees but you've definitely got a shot at both of those fishing from the jetty.

They have 2 floating piers in the bay going out to shell island that sell live bait, I imagine for people going offshore though. You might be able to catch some reds or triple tail in the bay.

If you want to fish from the boat anywhere on the backside of Shell Island; you've got tons of 6' and shallower grass flats with all the usual fish. You mentioned spanish and your best bet for them is close to the pass, but a pontoon boat around the pass isn't your best combination for fishing (or anything but transit), which is why I mentioned the jetties. A lot of people take the pontoons to the small cove just opposite St Andrews so they can walk to the Gulf side or fish from the rocks, and it's easier to fish the pass from the rocks than it is a boat, even a larger boat.

If I wanted to catch Spanish that's what I'd do. If I just wanted to fish from the boat and catch fish, including redfish and flounder, the backside of the island has plenty of room.

Not sure about fishing, but we just got back from down there last week. The Sea Screamer dolphin your was pretty cool. We have 3 boys, 15, 12, 11. They all had a blast. We went at 3:15. We saw sea turtles mating and probably 35 dolphins. They shoot a cannon and have a water gun fight with the other Sea Screamer. Pretty cool!

Eta: beers are$2, $3,rum punch is $5.

We always charter a private boat from the state park.. lasts about 3 hours and they take you out in a pontoon for dolphins… we usually see 10+ And sea turtles/stingrays/schools of fish, you can stop and try to swim with them… they take you out to the gulf and snorkel along the jetties, where it has formed a natural reef. Tons of cool stuff they know and share with you to get the lay of the land. Even took us to a shipwreck from hurricane Michael that’s off the beach to snorkel around. Something to look into as well if you don’t want to drive yourself, it gets really crowded out there after mid morning
