Sweet. My buddy has a British lab that's going. The dog does blind retrieves better than any dog I've seen. Probably have atleast 2 dogs with us, plus whatever yall bring. Also have a buddy who may go. He's a former junior duck calling champion.

I may have to guide a DU hunt that weekend which would put me in Venice that weekend but may not be able to hunt with you all per say but could help a lot help get you all where you are going, put people up at the camp, etc. I should know in the next few days if I am doing that trip on the 2-4 or not. I'll participate one way or another though.

Hopefully no one will need a couch, if we get to that point couch at least has a fold out.... have two bunk beds and a couple other beds. Also have access to the neighbors place and can get a room at the private motel next door for $150/night that will sleep 4 or 6 I can't remember.

Hammer I think it was you that responded about getting a dog. Think I settled on a Chessie. Know anyone who's had a dog from Terry Brousseaus kennel in Greensburgh, LA?

I believe the Westbrooks in Franklinton know him well they run and train Chessies exclusively. I know of Terry but don't know him well to know what he is up to these days. I don't know anything bad about him.

Only other breeder I found is in laffy, but terry seems legit. All his dogs are tested for the DM trait

I own a half chessie half lab chesador.
Just want to warn you that their temperament is completely different than that of a lab.
I can see the chess is come out in mine from time to time. But as far as drive he will go all day.
Mine was a mutt I got when he was two weeks old cause his mom got ran over. Sent him to school, and he turned out to be a fine dog.
Just wanted to give you a heads up.
