Ok I wasn't clear. Yeah, I've used it over Durana with good results. Might try a splash of it over some JV. They're both legumes. Might be ok.

I was asking about clover. I'm not sure on the specific type of clover though.

about clove
Clover needs good deep soil in the south in order to become perennial.
If you're just looking for something for the spring, you can plant in a variety of soils in October and make good clover for Feb, Mar, and April.
But if you're looking for a clover that carries over through the summer and comes back without replanting. Then you need Durana. And it needs good deep soils or it won't survive the summer.

Well, just know if you do what I’m talking about it might kill it. You could call the local CO-OP, they might know about all the different types of clover.
If it was me I would do it and if it killed it I would just go back with Durana. Durana is the best variety I know of for the south. That is going on drought and weed control.
*Lol what No Colors said. I just repeated what he said about Durana.

Drilled in about 20lbs of vetch, 10lbs if sunflower, and 50lbs of clay peas this evening
Put 0-46-0 on top.
Dirt was plowed and then hit with a tiller box to smooth out.
Hopefully get a good stand. Supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday.
Concerned my drill is set too deep. I’ve got a small bow plot I plan to broadcast vetch in. Sprayed it last week

Are you going to put nitrogen out later for the sunflowers? I have never mixed them with legumes, so I wouldn’t know if they needed the normal rate of nitrogen.

Naw. I dont expect the sunflowers to get 5 inches before they get eaten. It was just some left over in the drill so I just mixed it in

Got good germination of the clay peas and the vetch
Vetch still tiny but definitely germinated

Vetch takes a while to get tall. Very slow to get established and then takes off.

Even where I sprayed with a 4 wheeler and broadcast has great germination. If that are takes off, gonna be great bow spot

This spot is just coming out from under the MS River flood waters. So all we did was spread the vetch and then we rolled it in with a cultipacker.
This spot we prepped the ground with disking, narrowed twice, then cultipacker, then spread vetch, then cultipacker again.

How soon can you spray vetch?
Posted on 5/24/20 at 5:04 pm to Outdoorreb
You can spray for grass (Post or Select) whenever you want. I usually wait about 4-5 weeks at a minimum to spray for weeds.

I can tell you that pursuit won’t kill JV. Had a problem with pigweed this year in a couple plots.
6oz/acre won’t kill it anyway.
Edit: It didn’t bother the Vetch. Not bothering and not killing could be two different things lol.
