The Kenner boys know how to build a damn good boat. I love the Blackjack but would not turn down a Frontier.

For those that might not know, K2 makes two boat brands, Frontier and Blackjack. You can look at the two and certainly see the similarities. They're daddy is Bill Kenner.

Whodat, I live in Prairieville and usually fish out of Cocodrie. Occasionally do a river ride on the Amite, but most boats feel good on the river.

Saw this one for sale today and remembered this thread, looks like a pretty good deal if it's as clean as the pics make it appear.

I have a 256 as well. I couldn’t imagine replacing it with any other bay boat on the market. I did consider Triton, but only because I like dealing with Tim’s Marine in St Bernard... then I came to my senses and got the Blackjack. I am planning to add a second boat soon. Trying to decide between a technical poling skiff like a Sabine Versatile or a flat boat like a Gator Trax or Prodigy.

You could hunt from a Sabine too.

My ONLY concern with the Sabine is speed. It is a decently long run out to the east side of the Biloxi Marsh from Shell Beach. If I'm coming back trying to outrun a storm I'd like to be able to maybe hit 40... not sure how safe that is in a boat that small. Thoughts?

I don't think you can run mud motors in Biloxi Marsh. Outboard will be much faster than mud motor.

either way I would have an outboard... but I know I can put a larger outboard on a 1860 Gator Trax than I can a Sabine Versatile.

Also, you are correct... you are not supposed to run a surface drive in Biloxi Marsh. I was told that no one will mess with you unless it is hunting season. No way to back that up, but that is what I was told.
