Any cheaper, but still solid uppers? I want to put a couple things on the picatanny rail..

Literally two pins to put the upper on a lower. A kid could do it. As for what else you'd need.. If you plan on getting that upper I posted then make sure you select their BCG and Charging handle from the drop down menu and it will come already installed. Besides that all you would need is either some iron sights or an optic you'd want.

Seriously though.. Can I find a good deal on a complete upper and lower on gun broker?

I'm not sure.. I've never used gun broker and only recently got my first AR. Someone on here with some more experience will have to chime in on that one.

Here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna buy one for 7 or 8 hundred then in a few months you will decide you want to build one from the ground up and dump a couple grand into it.

I don't know where to start?? I found a pretty tricked out "looking" one on sportsman for a grand. Would that be stupid to do?

I dont see which red dot it comes with, but you could build that cheaper. Unless it's exactly what you want and he'll come down, I'd personally pass on that one.

I agree/ If you're gonna spend a grand I would just buy the 2 parts I listed. Nicer gun and brand new
