Becky Humphries is stepping down.

Anyone know the status of the Super Fund?

I used to follow it when Rob Keck was pres.

They did well in the early 2000's. Partnered with USFWS, and did things on the NWR that worked.

But now, Timber select cut contracts that the Feds had to honor, the loggers left the place a mess. Ruts , scattered treetops, a complete flooded mess. Turkeys do not like that. They did indeed move out.

Also, wild hogs eating eggs knocked the poult survival down bad.

Then there was the mid 2000's La politics argument about when it should open. East Feliciana pull cried for March 15.

So, unless All of these groups work together, it likely will fail.

Fundraising has been pretty low the last few years. Some finger pointing as usual when things aren’t as good as they once were

Too many wild pigs

No trappers reducing the predators

Both result in eggs getting eaten.

Too much hunting, weapons too effective without modifying the season

Timber harvest mess in some areas, particularily bottomland hardwoods.

ALL OF THE ABOVE is why.

Yes, and sadly neither are passionate turkey hunters. I’m not sure why their board continues to believe that the CEO doesn’t need to be the face of the organization, similar to what Keck did for them.

Glad she is gone but the co-CEOs in organizations never work out. More turnover down the road.
