Need help with grass!!!

Hey guys i dug a pond a while back and took that dirt and spreaded it by the shop. Obviously its not good dirt to grow grass.
Im trying to figure out what will grow on it. Im thinking pensecola bahaya
Should i disc it and fertilize it first?
If I do that how long do i wait before i plant any grass. Any suggestions would be great
