Make sure the battery has water

Battery barely has any water. Can I just use tap water?

Think you're supposed to use distilled.

Better than no water but distilled water is suppose to be better.

Nothing better than a boat that doesn't cost much
OP, make sure you read the regs and get all the required equipment on board and in working order. Congrats

My dad had a skeeter like that when I was a lad. Lots of good trips in that thing. It was black w the red flakes.

I've got mechanics who will do the work for a case of beer and an afternoon of bullshitting...
Fight the urge to put too much crap on a boat and it is fairly inexpensive.

I'm just running through the main things. Plugs, gas, carbs, battery.
This boat has been in a shed for 4+ years.

Just use it often enough to make the annual maintenance worthwhile. I read all these boat owner horror stories on the net and figure it's mainly folks not ready for boat ownership. No different from a car, just use it enough to justify the maintenance costs.
