In my experience most companies handling IRAs will not allow for land to be purchased within an IRA. The article suggest it's because the investment firm doesn't make money on the IRA if land is purchased. While I can't argue with that the other side to the coin is the investment firm would not want to allow the IRA owner to start picking out land to purchase. Let's face it, for most this would be the only land they would purchase. They may not be fully aware of what purchasing land is all about. Also you're not supposed to use the land for recreational purposes if purchased within an IRA.

Sorry been out of pocket. The website is backwoodsland.com. You will have to build your on cabin. We have a builder who has built lodges for us before. It is not bow hunting only, but I know the guys that have Willow Point now. One of them is a neighbor. It is good hunting, but if you ask the locals Magna Vista is as good or better. Plus Magna Vidta has unbelievable duck hunting. Give me an email if you want to see the rules and financial info. Josh@backwoodsland.com

I hunt near Magna Vista and can vouch that this is a fantastic piece of land.
