Stewie, you want me to tell you the story about how I drove my jacked up Lil Rascal, all the way up to Northern Ms. in a snowstorm to try and help Diesel Tiger with his fight against Mr. Green Jeans and Whop Head Dolly?

1. That's huge hog.

2. Props to the guy for seeming to take it down in one shot.

3. I think it is from at least some feral stock. We have a lot of hogs that look like that because my grandfather and my dad and uncles were always putting "blooded" hogs out to mix with the wild ones. It seems to have a lot of domestic hog in it because those ears just don't look right for a wild hog.

4. I also think it has been fed OFTEN during it's life. No way a purely wild, unfed hog gets that big.

5. I can't see the tail to see if it has been clipped and the ears aren't marked so I'm not sure it has ever been cut (but probably is because of its size). No way I would eat if it wasn't cut.

Looks like it skinned out too easy also - hogs i've killed over 250 pounds that were feral were very difficult to skin. Basically had to strip the skin off, very thick and tough.
Try using an air compressor to seperate the hide from the tissue. It makes skinning those big boys like butta

I guess I figured there's enough domestic genes out there from released hogs for this to happen in the wild population. Where I hunt, you see all sorts of colors

This.
You can't say the hog isn't feral based on his ears and color; you can only assume he wasn't born in the wild because of his size.

Whether he was born in the wild or not has no factor in his size. If you catch a wild hog, cut him and then feed him up, he will get huge.

Edit to add: Obviously pure domestic hogs will be bigger, but the biggest factors for wild hogs are whether they are cut and whether they are fed.

Yeah. I meant au naturale. This hog is this size because of humans (domesticated, cut, fenced in, etc).

This. I would burn the fricker, then hang him. Good riddance anyways.

Why is it that every time these monster hogs are killed there is always a tractor near by to display it. I'm very suspicious, seems as if these farmers fatten them up then release them in the wild, seeing as it takes 3 months for a domestic pig to turn feral. Just an observation.

Is he really gonna try to eat that nasty thing? He would have been better off using that tractor to bury that bastard.

it can be done and done well, I generally keep the female and bury the males. I have acquaintances that can and do cook these and it's good. Opossum and Raccoon and nutria as well, not my cup of tea but it's palatable.
