We started noticing them in the Pearl River area after Hurricane Katrina. I'm not sure how the hurricane threw off their migration pattern, but it did.

They are my favorite duck to eat. We used to be over run with them. Hell to pick, gotta skin them. The winner of the Gieydan gumbo cook off is rumored to use em as his secret

They fly in family groups, shoot the momma and half the flock will follow her to the water. Just get lucky and shoot the right one. We haven't killed one in our marsh in three years now. They just left

Once killed sequential banded ones in a flock.
