Louisiana Sportsman magazine October & November 2017 issues -- anyone have them

My husband was GREAT friends with Pete Cooper, a Louisiana sportswriter and fly fishing guru. He died over the summer but the October & November magazines had articles that the author of the articles included info about Pete in.
My husband would LOVE to have them and I'd LOVE to find them for him to give to him for Christmas. I've emailed the magazine and explained and hopefully they'll have copies that I can purchase. If anyone happens to have them and doesn't keep them, I'd be happy to purchase them from you as well.
And if you've never heard of him, then you haven't heard of his books but you ought to check them out. Yeah, shameless plug but they're good and make great gifts for those that are hard to buy for (my dad really enjoyed "A Paradise Lost").
His books are on Amazon
We have several and I was happy that I'd gotten him to autograph copies for my husband and my boys -- who was with them when they killed their first ducks AND for many many fishing trips. I'm so sad about his death all over again just typing this.

I have both of them sitting on my desk right now that you are welcome to have, free. Otherwise, they will sit here for 2 months and then I will probably toss them when I clean the desk up.
I live in Opelousas.

Nah, no money needed. It's Christmas, and you're doing it for your husband. I'd rather them go to someone that it will mean something to than to throw them away.
If it would work, I could meet you in Lafayette, or just shoot me an e-mail (gmail: cowboyfan89td) with your address and I can send them. I would just hate for them to get lost in the mail or somehow not make it there in time.
I'll actually be in Lafayette tonight, just fyi.

I emailed both of you and I'll tell the board what I told you guys, actually a little more.
Pete was the dad of a college friend of ours. They lived in Buras during Katrina and well, got wiped out and relocated to our area as their dtr/son in law live near. One day the friend called my husband and said "dude take him hunting or fishing just take him somewhere!". Very good friendship formed from there between him and my husband and our two sons.
When they went back to Buras once allowed back in, one of the only things that they found was a plaque or some sort of award that he had received .. and I think it had to do with an induction into the Louisiana Sportswriters Hall of Fame. He was an LSU grad in English but worked oil rigs/oil field. Called himself "oilfield trash".
Anyway, I miss Pete ... I miss him telling me to take of my knees (I'm a runner) ... I miss him taking pictures of him and my peeps with their catch of the day ... and I won't soon forget the day he came to tell my husband that he had cancer. And my husband & boys misses their fishing/hunting buddy. Cancer sucks for sure. But I'll treasure my irises that he gave me a little more.
Sorry guys & thanks for reading and the help with this gift.

It helps when you don't mix up letters. Resending now.

Haha, not a problem. Got it that time. Will get them in the mail tomorrow. Hope your husband enjoys them, and thanks for the story. Glad they will be going to someone that will cherish them.
Merry Christmas!

They keep past copies at st Charles herald which is their publisher in Boutte off Hwy 90.
When I was looking at opening a Outdoor Power Store I looked into the cost of the Lamar Dixon show and they gave me some older copies to show my business partners.
Yes I met Mr Pete a few times. He was funny and knew his way around the fly fishing world. Still love making Pete’s popper and it is so simple and works.

Thanks. You're fortunate to have met him. Neat guy -- even during his treatments he'd call my husband to line trips up.
If anyone has Facebook, check out his page -- he has some beautiful photos of fish, ducks, flowers, nature in general.
