looking for a camper top

2015 GMC Canyon, short box
Lafayette, LA area
Where do I even look? I called Alty Camper Tops, locally. They told me prices start at $1800. A quick google search says average prices are $1200 to $1800 installed.
Any advice?

I have an ARE. There’s a poster here who recommended getting one that has side windows that flip open. I would second that. You can easily reach in and get things from the front rather than crawling in the bed.
I’ve loved having it. Great for hunting/fishing equipment, traveling with the family, etc... it completely frees up the cab.
Check anywhere that sells truck accessories. I got mine from a company in Knoxville that outfits service vans and fleet vehicles. They definitely aren’t easy on the wallet. Figure out what you want because the salesman will inevitably try to get you to add and add and add.

I got mine off expedition portal. I wish I had the flip up windows. I do have the thule rack system which is nice for the yak or bike. It's like having an suv but you dont smell the nasty stuff.

You might get lucky and find a used one near you, worth a try.

Got my Leer at Van Village in Slidell. Built up north & shipped to VV. Matching paint. I think it was about 1200. Have since added canoe racks. Looks like Deliverance truck. “ We need somebody drive these cars to Antree “

Facebook marketplace has a lot of used camper tops. May luck out and find one your style and color.
