We caught 5-6 white trout in 3-5lb range once about 25 miles offshore

You're probably correct.
It's also sad that 9 out of the 10 State white trout records were caught in the 70s. (the other one was caught in '81)

This day and age with cameras and video, why would you kill a big tarpon? Unless it was so big you thought it might be a record.

Jack C, spadefish, hardheads and other fish that aren't typically eaten should be taken out of the rodeo.
