Disclaimer: I don't shoot pistols all that much and I am a self proclaimed novice.

I've read about the pros and cons about the Weaver stance in magazines and honestly didn't know that it was my go to until I went to the range yesterday.

Critique my Weaver stance below. I didn't even notice my stance was different until the gentleman in blue in the posted picture was nailing a 3" target at 15 yards with an isosceles stance with a P22

I gave the isosceles stance a chance and just didn't feel right.

I was shooting a red dot (on any firearm) for the first time ever with the Ruger Mark 3 in the picture. While it wasn't quite sighted into my eye, I was able to put 7/10 or better in the 3" target on my last 4 groups of 10 rounds.

Also, I'm interested in feedback on my grip in the picture posted.

We did this yesterday when all that bull shite protest stuff was happening so it felt good to go pew pew pew.

I was fortunate to shoot a Les Baer 1911 (barely visable in the pic) and a Browning Hi Power for the first time

Critique away

Your hips are out in front of your shoulders as you seem to be slightly leaning back.

The isosceles provides a more aggressive stance to handle recoil and put shots on target faster.

Stack your thumbs with right over left and pointed at target. Grip with off hand more than dominant hand. Also looks like you need to lean forward a bit and bend knees a tad. Pistols are not easy to shoot accurately. Trigger time is best treatment for improving accuracy.
