Does anyone know anyone on the north shore who does this? Can I say, go to a trophy etching place and have it done, or am I looking at sending the slide off somewhere? It's just initials and a date fwiw.

Lasers that can cut steel are very expensive, like knocking on 100k expensive. I doubt your little mom and pop trophy shop would have one. If it is just text you want done then finding someone with a rotary engraver would probably be a lot easier and a rotatary engraver can do text no problem as long as it's not minuscule. If you really want laser though then your best bet may be to mail it off. Since its just the slide you could send it to anyone, just Google.

I talked to a sales rep over there yesterday, and they suggested a place in Morgan City. Is this is?
I'm in a crunch to get it done (gift), so we're bringing it to Ibert jewelry in Hammond to see if they have a machine to get through steel. This was very last minute, and need it by tomorrow, so I'm not expecting for it to get done.

If anyone is looking to get some laser engraving done, I highly suggest Ibert's jewelry in Hammond. $10 and had it done it an hr.
It's pretty simple, but it made a good gift.
